
The Office of the Environmental Ombudsman for the Tyrol is mainly involved in advocacy work in the context of nature conservation and waste disposal proceedings, and environmental impact assessments (EIA), for which it has a legal mandate. In addition to the department with responsibility for nature conservation at the Office of the Tyrolean Regional Government and the corresponding offices of the district authorities, the Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman also serves as a contact for members of the general public in matters concerning nature conservation.
