Nature conservation and projects

In addition to working as a party in the relevant proceedings, the Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman also addresses subjects of current interest in the field of nature protection and promotes awareness building for the need to protect and preserve the natural environment. Exemplary projects and models are developed to illustrate sustainable approaches to the natural environment in the Tyrol (best practice cases). These initiatives also serve to establish cooperation and networking with authorities, land users (e.g. tourism businesses, farmers) and NGOs. In a continuous dialogue with experts from a wide range of disciplines, we also endeavour to take a critical look at our own state of knowledge and to keep ourselves up to date. We hold talks, answer and ask questions, and contribute to what are often controversial discussions in the framework of events dedicated to wide variety of topics.

Ongoing work

One of the objectives for the Environmental Ombudsman is to initiate and further develop good-practice examples of collaboration with other organisations and individuals. Model projects are developed with the aim of promoting a sustainable approach to our living space and the natural environment in the Tyrol. Other projects serve to overcome barriers and achieve awareness building for the needs of the natural environment.  More...
